As A Doctor
I am caring and passionate about helping people with chronic pain and it is my endeavour to reduce suffering and help improve quality of life.
Over the years, not only have I had the privilege to undergo structured training in pain medicine and attended and taught various prestigious courses related to treatment of chronic pain but also have shown leadership skills in heading the department at The Walton Centre, where I now hold full time NHS post as Clinical Director of Pain Service. I have also served leadership roles as Chairman for various Pain Groups.
Professional Qualifications
I have had the privilege to undergo formal training recognized by the Faculty of Pain Medicine, Royal College of Anesthesia, London. I have also been awarded MSc in Pain Management from University of Leicester in 2004.
In addition, I have attended several courses in the field of chronic pain management and also teach many courses and hold cadaver workshops related to pain in UK and overseas. Some of these are organized by me and by the Faculty of Pain Medicine and other regional pain groups. Having practised in this field since 2004 as Consultant in Pain Medicine, I enjoy practising privileges in many private hospitals and am recognized by leading private medical insurers.
Scope of Work
I work in different facilities across Liverpool - NHS and private hospitals - and offer pain relief service through multiple treatment options. I am also able to make initial assessment for pain management program, a self-help intensive course to improve pain management and reduce suffering.
Private Hospitals that offer services related to pain relief boast of excellent out-patients facilities, diagnostic back-up and pain theatre suite complemented by highly skilled theatre staff as well as x-ray equipment that is relevant for pain relief interventions. I have regular appointment slots in these hospitals, thus offering you a choice of hospital, which is nearest and most convenient for you.
How I Diagnose & Treat Your Pain Related Problems
I am into full-time chronic pain practice owing to my keen interest in this field and over the years I have come to possess skills that are suited for treating chronic pain conditions. Because of my unique skills I am one of the few in UK who are able to provide a wide range of treatment options including medications, injections including radio-frequency denervation, spinal implants for chronic pain, and injection based treatment options for trigeminal neuralgia and pain relief options for cancer related pain. This also means that I am able to provide most suitable treatment on the basis of patient suitability and choice, clinical evidence base rather than only prescribe one treatment for most pain conditions.
